CPU-Z Hardware Verification
Trust, but verify: use CPU-Z readings to validate hardware claims before you keep a system or approve payment.
Verification checklist
- CPU name/cores/threads match the listed SKU
- Motherboard model matches the board you expected (or OEM equivalent)
- RAM capacity and type match; frequency is at advertised profile or explained
- GPU identification matches the discrete or integrated graphics promised
- Export a report as proof of configuration at handoff
Used PC and marketplace tips
Ask the seller for a fresh CPU-Z screenshot or report covering CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and Graphics. Compare SPD module counts to claimed kit size. Mismatches in cores, board model, or RAM capacity are immediate red flags.
After upgrades
Re-run identification after installing new memory or a GPU. Hardware verification is not only for buying—it confirms your own upgrade landed correctly before you close the case.
